SharePoint Saturday Boston - September 2016

Driving around Boston with my favorite cab driver in the world, Tom and having him give me a tour of the city from his old school, soulful perspective is one of my loveliest memories of my first trip to this historic city.

That was back in 2006 when I was doing a site visit for a party that I threw for the Microsoft Office team for our partners at the New England Aquarium.

That party is still one of my favorites, where I cut my teeth on producing a 300-person event when I was producing events for Microsoft.

We bought out the entire space, had a visit to their amazing shark tank and served 1 ¼ pound succulent Maine Lobsters (yes the irony is great there) sweet corn on the cob and had an awesome DJ celebrate a great year for Office and SharePoint at TechEd 2006 under their back atrium.

With attendees being in from all over the world, for many it was their first time having lobster.  I have always loved bringing something surprising to any event we planned.  So fun.

The SharePoint Community is one of the best and I give great kudos to Talbott Crowell of ThirdM, Geoff Varosky of Blue Metal and Chris Bortlik of Microsoft as they have championed the User Group of this community for a long time and were one of the first to use Yammer to organize and connect to their Boston members.

Thank you again Talbott, and Geoff, Chris, Microsoft, the volunteers and sponsors for having me speak at this wonderful event.
